COVID Sick Pay Update

The new COVID Relief Bill states that employees will not get new Emergency Paid Sick Leave hours. They may use —the unused portion of their original allotment that remains on January 1, 2021 through March 31, 2021.

For instance, if an employee who was entitled to 80 hours of EPSL between April 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020 used 40 of those hours in 2020, they would have 40 hours left to use between January 1, 2021 and March 31, 2021.

Any remaining balances in the COVID buckets will expire after March 31, 2021, unless additional legislation is passed extending this date.
